Batter for Waffles or Pancakes


  • 1 C flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 T sugar
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • milk


Prepare a Belgian waffle maker or griddle for waffles or pancakes.  In a medium bowl, blend together flour, baking powder and sugar with wire whisk.  Add egg.  Add milk until batter is thinned, but still thick and will easily pour.  Pour batter in waffle iron to cover lower iron – with pancakes, pour into desired size circles.  Cook until browned on both sides and fluffy.  Serve with your favorite syrup or fruit and cream.
