Butter & Basil Rice


  • 1 C brown rice
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 2 C water
  • 1/4 C butter or margarine (works best with butter)
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Basil


Boil rice in 2 cups water with the bouillon cubes until tender, you may need to add more water if the rice is not tender.  When all but a very small amount of water is gone from the rice (less then about a tablespoon or so), add butter and melt, stirring to make sure rice does not stick to pan.  Remove from heat and stir in pepper and Basil.  Makes 4 servings.
